We woke up this morning to a "dusting" of snow. It was pretty, but didn't last very long - because there wasn't much of it - (not even enough to close the schools.) This was our first "snow" of the season and might just be our only snow. ~hope not! Emma Grace has never seen more than a dusting.

Happy Valentines week!
I LOVE Valentines day, and always have - I guess it's the candy, decorations and "mushy cards". I just love the different seasons and all the holidays that come with them. This year I'm trying really hard to impress upon my kids of Christ's love for us and the love that we should all have for Him. I guess the best verse to describe God's love is John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
Another favorite verses of mine is found in 1 John 3:18 - Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

Morgan takes the ACT for the 1st time.
Morgan was eligible to take the ACT as a part of the Duke University TIP program for 7th grade students. He took it this morning at Pellissippi State. He said it was very hard, but a good experience. Now he will know what to expect when he takes it again in High school. We can't wait to find out what he scored!

Subbing in Andrew's class
Mathematician of the week
Andrew was "mathematician of the week" in his class. Everyone takes a turn at this job. Today, he had to bring 3 of his own items, from home to show the class. (he chose cars of course) Then his classmates use counters to vote for their favorite "item". His black Porsche won by a landslide vote. It was fun getting to be with him today and yesterday!

Happy Ground Hog Day!
Tomorrow (Sat.) is Ground Hog day. I used to make these ground hog cupcakes with my 2nd graders - back in the day when sugar was allowed in schools. Now, I just make them for my own kids - Andrew loved helping decorate the cupcakes. He said they look like beavers instead of Ground Hogs. (Well, we DO live in Karns!) I hope Punxatawney Phil sees his shadow tomorrow because I'm ready for SPRING!
