Our newest family member...

Papaw Coker's horse  Shaker had her baby  early this morning.  Shaker is a Tennessee Walking horse and this is her 2nd colt.  None of us had ever seen a newborn horse before. We  were surprised at how well she was walking around. She was  only about 15 hours old in these pictures. We went as soon as Morgan got out of track practice. Shaker wasn't too thrilled with us being in the stall with them. Papaw is so PROUD!

KMS Track meet

Morgan had another track meet this evening against West Valley Middle School. He ran the 4 x 100 relay, the 4 x 400 relay and did long jump.  Here is picture of him after getting the hand off. He loves relays. Track meets are so exciting to watch. I got to see several of my former 2nd grade students tonight from Blue Grass Elementary . They are now @ WVMS.    If you need to reach the Knight family   in the evenings, we are either at the track or the baseball field! :)

Game ball!

At Andrew's baseball game Tuesday night, he scored one run and had another hit, but got OUT on 3rd base. :(   He is really enjoying baseball. They played the Astros - and lost by one point. He was excited to get the "game ball" when it was over!

Fabulous K  Designs!  She does an amazing job! Check out her Blog  on my link list.
I wanted to stick with our "Knightly" theme - so the picture she used was  made at a fort/castle that we visited this past summer in St. Augustine Florida.

Thank you Kelly~ We LOVE it!

We are enjoying Baseball so much!

KES Enrichment Open House

Karns Elementary is fortunate to have an Enrichment teacher for the primary grades. Most Knox county schools only have TAG for 3rd-5th graders. Mrs. Townsend takes on the 1st and 2nd graders and does an outstanding job enriching their minds and teaching higher order thinking skills. Tonight was the end of the year open house. We had refreshments in the library and then the kids got to show their parents & grandparents all the projects the have been working on this school year. It was a great evening and interesting to see how much these kids have learned. Great job Mrs. Townsend!

The 2nd grade enrichment classes this year did an extensive study on Earth Sciences. They learned about the layers of the earth, Tsunamis, and volcanos - and did research projects on each of them.
