Emma had her 3 year old well visit today. Her doctor is Dr. Thomas Lowery at Karns Pediatric Clinic. She LOVES Dr. Lowery. He is so good with her. Emma Grace weighs 32 pounds and is 39 inches tall. (75% in weight and 95% in height). We still don't know where she is getting her height from??? She has gained 6 pounds and 3 inches since her 2 year old visit. The TOP picture is her & Dr. Lowery last year (July 2007) and the BOTTOM picture is from today.
Morgan also had his 14 year appt. today. He also grew 3 inches taller - from 5 foot last year, to 5-3 today. This makes him exactly 2 inches taller than mom - which he is so proud of!!! Morgan has gained 16 POUNDS since last July! (No wonder none of his clothes fit him any more!!!)

Destin
We took a quick trip to Destin, Florida last week. It was so nice to just get away for a few days and enjoy the ocean and beach together as a family. It seems that once school starts we are always so busy and going our separate ways - especially during football season ( which has already started.) We had perfect weather and the beach was just beautiful. The sand on the gulf coast is so soft and perfect for building sand castles. We love the Gulf and have been to Panama City several times in the past , but now have unanimously decided we all like Destin the best. Morgan & John both got stung by jelly fish, but it wasn't bad. We all enjoyed eating out at different restaurants . Andrew swam all the way across the outdoor pool for the 1st time! Emma loved everything. This was actually her 1st time to play in the ocean and on the beach. We thank God for "family time" and the opportunity to have a few days together.

Mimi's 60th Surprise Birthday Party
July 21st was my mom's 60th birthday!!! My dad and I planned a surprise party for her and invited friends that she used to work with at ORNL Credit Union and some of her friends from the choir and her bible study group at Sevier Heights , as well as some family! She was so surprised to see everyone!!!! It was fun! Happy Birthday Mimi!
The dentist warned us about this!
Last year Emma's dentist told us to get rid of the "Paci". As you can tell, she is still addicted to it despite our attempts to get rid of it. The dentist warned us about buck teeth from prolonged pacifier use.

Morgan's 14th Birthday!
.Morgan did not want a "party" this year. Instead, he just wanted to go see BATMAN - the Dark Knight movie which opened Today!!! He took several of his Football buddies with him to see the movie . Afterwards they went to Baskin Robbins for some Ice cream. I can't believe my 1st baby is 14 years old! Can you believe I got all 9 of these big boys into my Honda Pilot to take them from Regal Cinema @ Turkey Creek down the road to Baskin Robbins??
Can you guess how much it costs to feed 9 14 year old boys ice cream? ($39.78) That's a lot of ice cream! :)

Emma Grace's 1st Ballet class
This afternoon I took Emma Grace to a free trial ballet & tap class. She went as a guest of her friend Gracie Kate Allen. It was so cute. She did really well for her 1st "class" of any kind. She listened to the instructor and tried her best. Hopefully, I can get her enrolled somewhere this fall.

FRESH from the Garden!
My mom picked everything you see on this plate this morning and cooked it for dinner this evening! She also made some hot cornbread & sweet tea. YUM YUM! It was sooooooo good. You can't get any more FRESH than that! One thing I always look forward to every summer is my dad's garden. He always plants corn, okra, green beans, tomatoes, onion, peppers and cucumbers. Sometimes other things too - but those are the usual. The boys always enjoy helping him plant and pick. This year Emma helped plant too. She also planted some sunflower seeds that will hopefully produce some big sunflowers later this fall.

It's almost Back to School Time!
Ok, so I admit it, I am a NERD! I LOVE school, and always have. I get so excited every year at this time at the 1st sighting of SCHOOL SUPPLIES! I was a Target today, getting some swim/pool toys for Emma, and I couldn't believe my eyes! They were sitting in the aisle putting out SCHOOL SUPPLIES! I am sure the boys were mortified when I pulled out my camera (Yes, i carry it in my purse ) :) to take a picture! The Target employees I'm "quiet sure" thought I was some sort of NUT case. I guess I am. I just love school and everything about it. I love the smell of new text books, getting new supplies, clothes , tennis shoes, and a fresh start at a brand new school year! I love school so much I only missed 3 or 4 days of school from kind. through 12th grade. (I had chicken pox in the 4th grade and I went to the LSU / UT football game in Baton Rouge in the 6th grade with my family.) I even went to school on "Senior- lay -out day" ! I have one friend (Deborah) who might understand this crazy love of school. Well, I just wanted to share with you all , that NOW is the time to get your school supplies! NO ONE was buying them - avoid the crowds - stock up early! I couldn't resist and bought some Elmers & Crayolas! :)

Miss JULY!
Emma Grace will be 3 years old in just 16 days , on July 19th. JULY is a BIG BIRTHDAY month at our house.
