Andrew's 2nd Grade Parent presentation day...

Today in Andrew's class , the parents were all invited to attend a presentation of "Their 2nd grade experience".  It was so sweet. We sat at Andrew's desk  beside him and he showed us his portfolio of work and special papers that he had been working on all year long. We got to see all his test scores in CARE, Math, reading & Language for the entire year. He made a 100% on his end of the year Benchmark test!!!! Since 2nd graders do not take the TCAPs anymore - this  is what they use to measure their growth and what they have learned. We were so proud ! The students  all read a paper about the career that they would choose as an adult. Andrew wrote his paper on being a Car Designer.  He says he wants to design a car that will run on water - since gas is so expensive. I told him to "go for it!" :) It was so neat to see how much they have all grown up and changed this year. 2nd grade is my favorite grade of all - I admit - (I'm a little partial). Next year he will begin the intermediate grades and lots more learning to do.  With Ms. Wiley's help, each child in the class made a scrapbook of their own "2nd grade year", I LOVED that of course~ and Ms. Wiley also made a Photo show to end the special time together with the parents which had us all in tears.  I lOVED that too ! It has been another AWESOME year at KES. Thank you Ms. Wiley for the great job you have done with these kids, for loving them so much and for all your hard work!
